Description: They are shrubs and small trees. The leaves are deciduous and the stems are usually thorny. A medium sized armed shrub with spines placed various angled. Bark is grey with spines. Flowers are greenish. Fruit 1-1.4 cm across, subglobose, yellow. Flowering and fruiting happens in April-June
Note: The fruits are edible and fed by several birds and animals during the fruiting season. Tender leaves are boiled and placed to remove the thorns that have got into the skin to remove the thorn. The bark is made into a paste with turmeric and lime and applied on the forehead to cure headache.
