Scientific Name: Murraya koenigi
Tamil Name: Kariveppalai
Description: Small tree 5-8m tall. It is deciduous in habits. Canopy is dense. Leaves are single and compound. Fragrant flowers white in white clusters. Fruits in bunches which are purple black. Edible.
Habitat and distribution: Native to India, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia.
Note: Seeds must be ripe and fresh to plant; dried or shriveled fruits are not viable. One can plant the whole fruit. Leaves used as curry in Indian kitchen.
