Description: Honey brown above with a pale underside. Tail is slender, long with a sting dark red in color. Pincers are present which are slender and sharp.
Distribution and status: This is the common marbled scorpion also known as the red scorpion distributed in India.
Habitat: This is found in built spaces, crevices and under debris.
Habits: It has a poison apparatus at the end of the tail which can result in a painful sting. It is nocturnal in its habits.
Food: Will feed on small insects and their larvae.
Life cycle: The eggs are carried by the mother on the back till they hatch and disperse.
